Training
I received my Bachelor of Music from the U. of Texas at Austin while studying with John Perry. I performed with the Austin Symphony and the Dallas Symphony and started my Master’s degree at USC studying with John Perry and finished my masters degree at U. of Colorado at Boulder in Violin Performance and Pedagogy, studying with William Starr and Oswald Lehnert. I completed my doctorate in piano performance at U. of Colorado at Boulder studying with Doris Lehnert.

Private Piano and Violin teacher 1992 to present day
Aspen Music Festival – taught beginning strings 2018-2020
Metro State in Denver-Adjunct professor teaching applied piano, group class piano and collaborative artist 2006-2007
U.of Colorado at Boulder – Professor for Doris Lehnert’s studio while she was on sabbatical 2004-2005
Musical Achievements
Winner of the Buono and Bradshaw International Piano competition. As winner, I performed in Carnegie Weill Hall in May 2005.
Soloist with Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Longmont Symphony Orchestra, Richardson Symphony Orchestra, Austin Symphony Orchestra, Sewanee Festival Orchestra, Sam Houston State Orchestra, University of Texas at Austin Orchestra, opening soloist with the University of Texas Symphony for the dedication of the LBJ Presidential Library, performed solo recitals in Congress Hall in Florence, Italy and Baden, Baden Germany, Dallas Fine Art Series recitals, performed Carnival of the Animals with the Austin Symphony, Metro State Symphony, and the Longmont Symphony Orchestra.
A member of various orchestras as concertmaster, core member and/or string section of: Boulder Bach Festival, Mahlerfest orchestra, concert master of Texas All-State Orchestra, Bozeman Symphony Orchestra, Missoula Symphony, Las Vegas Chamber Orchestra, Billings Symphony, Four Seasons Chamber Orchestra, Boulder Philharmonic, Cheyenne Symphony, Wichita Falls Symphony, and Austin Symphony.
I have students that have many accomplishments. Some gaining scholarships for college due to completing the Royal Conservatory 10 levels. Others that majored or minored in music at college. Many enjoy playing in community orchestras or enjoy playing just for themselves. That is my main goal in teaching, having a passion for music and the enjoyment it brings to your life and to others.
